Story-led factual work across broadcast, YouTube, podcast and creator long-form, digital and film.

Shane Cooke is a London-based freelance documentary and factual editor working across broadcast, YouTube, podcast and creator long-form, digital and film.

His work is strongest where there is a real story to shape: interviews, archive, scripts, voiceover and raw material that needs turning into a clear, engaging film. He goes beyond assembling shots, finding the emotion in the material and building a moving narrative through structure, pacing and rhythm. He edited My Wife, My Abuser, nominated for a British Film Editors award, and continues across documentary, history, science, investigations, branded films and digital-first factual.

Shane works across Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, After Effects and Blender, with experience in editing, colour grading, motion graphics, sound design, title design, archive-led sequences and 2D/3D visual storytelling. He uses modern tools and AI-assisted workflows where they improve the process, while keeping story, tone and editorial judgement human-led.
